Adjust font size:

The four-day Chinese traditional new year lion dance competitions ended in Yangon Thursday night with the "the Last Don" lion dancing group winning the first place and the "the Lion Boy" group the second.

The winning groups, awarded with newly-imported lion heads from Singapore for dancing, repeated their excellent performances after a prize presentation was held.

A total of six such amateur groups took part in the contests, which took place on a historically famous street named Sint Oh Danin the Chinatown.

The other four groups are Y.S.L, Global Lion, Dragon and Pearl Black.

The competitions, the third of its kind, started on Monday, the 5th day of Chinese lunar new year.

The contests included ground dancing and on-table dancing.
