World's 1st phonograph displayed to promote World Expo
Adjust font size:

People in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality can now have an early peek at the 2010 World Expo to be held in Shanghai, at an exhibition in the city's Three Gorges Museum.

Chongqing Economic Times reports the one week exhibition which started on Tuesday aims to offer knowledge about the World Expo.

An ancient phonograph, invented by American inventor Thomas Edison some 120 years ago, attracted the most attention from visitors to the exhibition. It was once on display at the 1876 Philadelphia World Expo.

Other exhibits include antique cameras and copies of the Statue of Liberty.
