A four-day international cultural and creative industry expo ended on Sunday in Beijing reaching cooperation or trading deals worth US$3.8 billion, organizers said.
A total of 220 intended cooperation deals or contracts in art shows, publishing, copyright, film and TV program production, games development, antiques trading and tourism cooperation, were signed at the 2nd China International Cultural and Creative Industry Expo, said Sun Shoushan, vice chairman of the expo organizing committee.
The expo, held in the China International Exhibition Center, saw a sharp increase in trading of cultural and creative products and services with on-the-spot trading and auction volume rising by 172 percent from the previous one, according to Sun, who is also deputy director of the General Administration of Press and Publication (GAPP).
Sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television and the GAPP, the event attracted about 260,000 people from both home and abroad.
