The eastern Chinese metropolis of Shanghai is to hold what it claims to be the biggest digital arts festival in the world.
The inaugural Shanghai eArts Festival, opening on October 19, will bring together the world's leading artists and institutions in the field of electronic music and related technologies.
For five days, visitors will get the change to see collaborations between Chinese and foreign artists in around 30 activities, including concerts, sound art installations and creative brainstorms.
The spectacular is jointly sponsored by several government departments and spearheaded by a plethora of local arts institutions.
It aims to develop into an annual event.
