Lawrence Schiller, a famous photographer from US, will hold a photo show in China on September 18–23 in Beijing World Art Museum. He revealed that 12 photos he took of Marilyn Monroe would be exhibited. "I enjoy these 12 photos very much," he said.
In Schiller's eyes, Monroe was a very smart woman, and she performed very well in her films. But it's a pity, he said that people were reluctant to accept her when she was alive.
The photographic show will be titled, "Marilyn Monroe and the US in the 1960s". Schiller also thought America in the 1960s was in chaos. The 64 news photos to be displayed in the exhibition will be include photos of ex-US President Richard Nixon, human rights activist Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., etc. He revealed that most of these photos had been used in journal covers.
He also interviewed 37 Chinese artists and their relatives, and he said it's the best way to help him understand Chinese culture.
