Mongolian Musical 'Talindamu' Staged in Beijing

Artists from China and Mongolia staged the musical opera "Talindamu", which means "legend of the grassland" in the Mongolian language, at the Tianqiao Theater in central Beijing, from November 12-14.

"Talindamu" traces the history of the herding people on the Mongolian Grassland, in an integration of the Mongolian Saga and the Mongolian Lyricism.

The artists, who included Mongolian nationals and Chinese Mongolians, entertained the audience with typical Mongolian songs, dances and instrumental performances.

Some local experts said the musical is of academic importance for the study of Mongolian arts and traditions.

Chinese State-Councilor Chen Zhili watched the last show on Monday.
