'Teahouse' Opens in Kennedy Center

"Teahouse", a classic drama written by Chinese literary master Lao She, is performed by players of Beijing People's Art Theater in John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., the United States, Oct. 27.

The drama will be presented from Oct. 27 to Oct. 29, as the last major part of the Chinese Culture Festival.

"Teahouse", which has enticed generations of Chinese, explores the vicissitudes of modern Chinese society in one special venue -- a small teahouse, which caters to various kinds of people.

Since its debut in 1958, "Teahouse" has joined the repertoire of the Beijing People's Art Theater, and has been performed more than 500 times.
