National Day to Kick off Animation, Comics Show

The Guangdong Provincial Publishing Group Co Ltd and the Guangdong Publishing Import & Export Co Ltd will jointly organize an international animation and comics exhibition here next week during the National Day holidays.

The Guangzhou International Animation & Comics Exhibition will begin on October 3 and last until October 6.

Animation and cartoon producers as well as media associations at home and abroad will showcase their comics, animation VCDs and DVDs, online games and related software at the event.

China has a huge demand for cartoons and comics thanks to its 400 million teenagers, whereas it has very few large cartoon programmers, leaving the market open to imports. The Shanghai Fine Arts Film Studio, the CCTV Cartoon Department and the Hunan Sanchen Cartoon Company are among the well-known players in the field.
