With an automobile theme park which opened Wednesday in Shanghai, the first ever in China, the 2005 Shanghai international auto culture festival opened.
Covering an area of about 76.7 hectares of land and featuring the various cultures of automobiles, the park is facilitated with an auto museum, an auto world, an exhibition center, and entertainment programs.
Authorized by US-based entertainment company Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), the auto world, by high-tech entertainment measures, tries to present the whole process of auto-manufacturing.
A staff member at the theme park said that the single "auto world" project is expected to draw 2.5 million to 5 million visitors annually.
