China will host a cultural festival in the United States from Oct.1-30, information from the Beijing Modern Dance Conservatory (BMDC) said.
During the festival, a delegation of 14 actors and actresses from the Beijing Modern Dance Conservatory, with an averaged age of 24, will present three shows on "the Rite of Spring" of Igor Stravinsky, a Russian composer, by blending Chinese cultural features at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington D.C. of the United States from Oct.7-9, Zhang Changcheng, leader of the conservatory said.
"Chinese red" will be a dominant characteristics of BMDC's Riteof Spring, said Zhang, who disclosed in the performances, all actors would wear Chinese tunic suits, while actresses would sport cheongsam, a close-fitting woman's dress with high neck and slit skirt.
After the performances in Washington D.C., the BMDC delegation will move on to do another month-long rotating show in other American states such as Atlanta and Hawaii starting from Oct.11, according to Zhang.
