Beijing Dramas Mark End of WWII

Several Chinese plays themed around the 60th anniversary of the end of WWII will be on stage in Beijing this month.

Zhao Youliang, dean of National Theater Company of China, says Chinese actors have a responsibility to reflect on the historical tragedy of WWII by portraying it to people through drama.

About seven plays including the 2000 Pulitzer Prize winner "Copenhagen", and a Chinese puppet show entitled "Died in 1942" are on the agenda for Beijing drama lovers this month.

Chinese American Nobel Laureate of physics Chen Ning Yang will be watching "Copenhagen" at the Oriental Xianfeng Theater.
