One of Germany's best-known artists, Joerg Immendorff, has opened a solo exhibition in Beijing's White Space Gallery.
It is the controversial artist's third showing in the Chinese capital. His neo-expressionist paintings, all created in 2003 and the first half of 2004, include 50 watercolors, 16 oil paintings, 2 prints and 3 sculptures.
Immendorff was forced to stop painting last year due to a nerve disease. He also received an 11-month suspended jail sentence for taking cocaine in 2004.
Famous for his large paintings and stage design, his work was once shown at the Biennial in Venice.
