The British Broadcasting Corporation or BBC will dedicate a whole week on China on its TV, radio network and website.

The project -- China Week, starting from Monday, covers China's rapid change in many areas and talks about the nation's influence on its own people and the rest of the world.

It's the first time the BBC has launched a project of this type, focusing on a single country.

During China Week, dozens of reporters from the BBC will do live reports and feature programs from different cities around the country.

The BBC has been preparing this project for a long time and has the full support of its top management.

Li Wen is head of the BBC World Service's Chinese Business Development.

"I remember when we first thought about making a feature about China, it was in April last year. Initially, it was just a rough idea. But it soon caught interest from many colleagues. BBC's management was also fully supportive to our move from the very beginning," Li said. 

China Week has also gained wide attention from the British media.

The BBC says the idea of China Week is that the rapid change and continuous opening-up of China have made the country more and more interesting to the rest of the world.
