Chinese State Councilor Chen Zhili said in Beijing Friday that China should promote an all-round, coordinated and sustainable development of the country's degree-oriented education and postgraduate education.
"We should design a strategic plan for the degree and postgraduate education on a scientific basis," said Chen, head of the Degree Commission under the State Council, at an ongoing national conference on higher education.
She urged the country to encourage innovations in management and education style for those seeking a post graduate degree and form platforms to cultivate a higher caliber of innovative personnel.
According to Chen, China should enhance training of creative postgraduates.
"Ideological and political education for them are also of importance," she said.
