An international seminar on Confucianism in the modern world has opened in China's capital Beijing.
The meeting, sponsored by People's University of China and the Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies, will last for three days.
Over 130 experts and scholars from more than ten countries, including China, South Korea, Japan and Russia are participating in the meeting.
They will discuss the development of Confucianism, the position of Confucianism in philosophy and Confucianism's value in modern times.
Confucius was born 2,555 years ago, and Confucianism became the mainstream thinking in China's ideology for over 2,000 years.
