10-year-old Passes CET 4

A schoolboy passed the College English Test (CET) Band 4 in June to become the youngest person to pass the test in North China's Shanxi Province, the Shenzhen Daily reported citing Monday's Shanxi Evening News as the source.

Sun Tianchang, 10, scored 64.5 points in the test, which his parents said did not reflect his true level.

"His achievements could have been better if he had more experience in exams," said Sun's parents.

Sun had learned most senior high school courses through self-study and planned to sit the National College Entrance Examinations in two or three years, said his parents, who helped him with his studies.
