With people across the globe wrapped up in all things Greek, China is busy preparing to show-off its grandeur in 2008. An exhibition of Chinese ceramics is offering a taster.
When it comes to Chinese pottery, huge jars covered in dragons and lions spring to mind. But this exhibition comes as something of a surprise. It showcases, almost exclusively, monochrome, single color pieces. The technique was pioneered in China centuries before the rest of the world discovered it.
The purity and exquisiteness of the art on display is beyond the confines of time.
Together, these art pieces are worth millions of dollars.
