The second Chinese-Foreign University Presidents Forum opened in Beijing Wednesday morning. About 160 Chinese and overseas university presidents and educational experts attended the seven-day forum.
Of those participants, 14 presidents were from overseas universities, such as Yale University, Stanford University, Columbia University, Cambridge University and Oxford University; and 120 were from prestigious Chinese universities.
The themes of the forum were "strategic planning of university development" and "scientific innovation and technology transfer".
During the forum, some Chinese and foreign university presidents will deliver speeches, introducing the features of their universities as well as sharing experience and expertise in university administration.
The first forum was held in Beijing in July 2002 with 82 Chinese and 16 overseas university presidents present.
