A bilingual bimonthly on humanities and geography sponsored by the Federation of Literature and Art Circles of the Tibet Autonomous Region has been launched.
The Chinese-English periodical, at 99 yuan (about US$12) per copy, is so far the most expensive magazine in China.
The magazine, titled Tibetan Humanities and Geography, has about 200 pages and 300 photos. Each copy has a documentary DVD attached.
It is worthwhile for readers to keep the magazine for referencefor its excellent photos and stories, said Wen Pulin, the executive editor.
The bimonthly is financially backed by the Tibet Shengdi Stock Co. Ltd.. The magazine is merely the first step of the company to build up a "Tibetan humanities and geography" project, said OuyangXu, president of the company.
