The China Central Television will telecast an eight-part series on the military life of late Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping (1904-1997), marking the 100th anniversary of his birth.
The broadcast of the documentary is scheduled to begin on August 1, the Army Day, or the 77th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA).
The series was shot by the TV publicity center of the PLA.
Military experiences and superb commanding manner constitute an important part of the life of Deng, who took over a series of top positions in the Communist Party-led armed forces.
In late 1989, Deng resigned from his last job as the chairman of the Central Military Commission.
