A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) said in Beijing Wednesday that party cadres should improve their ideological and ethical education in their work and put it high on their agenda.
Addressing a meeting held by a national association on ideological and ethical education, Li Changchun, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, called on the party to recognize the importance of stepping up and improving ideological and ethical education.
Ideological and ethical education has been served as a useful tool during the party's history and considered to be an effective and important way to boost morale and increase cohesion.
Party committees at various levels should take the initiative in ideological and ethical education and put it high on the work agenda, said Li.
Li called for more efforts to improve ideological and ethical education at such levels as enterprises, rural areas, urban communities, schools, institutions and research organizations.
More efforts should also be made to hear the comments and complaints of the public, and win the hearts of the general public through democratic discussion and offering assistance to people, the disadvantaged in particular.
