The Shanghai World Expo Coordination Bureau has filed a lawsuit against a local real estate company for infringing on its copyright by using a logo and slogan similar to those of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo.
The Shanghai No. 2 Intermediate People's Court began hearing the case on Tuesday.
In addition to demanding the real estate company stop using the logo and slogan, the bureau is seeking a public apology and 500,000 yuan, over US$60,000.
The deputy director general of the bureau says by filing the lawsuit, they want to warn other companies not to use the 2010 Expo logo and slogan without authorization.
