Music Joined by Flocks of Friends

A spontaneous coming together of melodies can sometimes make the best music. In Shanghai, man and nature meet for an unusual display of cooperation to perform traditional Chinese music.

While performing on Shanghai's Chongming Island earlier this week, a trio of traditional Chinese musicians was joined by some unexpected guests.

Accompanying the music were bright-colored songbirds that followed the flow of the melody with their chirping, while other fine-feathered onlookers just perched themselves on bamboo branches and rocks. It was a rare moment when birds and musicians worked together in harmony to create music.
