Recently a maritime wind power plant with a generation capacity of 100,000 kilowatts was officially launched in Shanghai. Built with some 2.4 billion yuan, it is the first large-scale offshore wind plant in China.
Compared with coal-fueled power plants, this plant can save 86,000 tons of standard coal annually, or eliminate the production of 2,148 tons of sulfur dioxides, 1,847 tons of nitrogen oxides and 237,400 tons of carbon dioxides.
