Shanghai to Host High-end Lifestyle Fair

Beautiful, high-quality consumer products from Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Portugal, Spain and China, along with its Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Taiwan Province, will be on show at the inaugural Interior Lifestyle China - China International Trade Fair for Household Products and Accessories, scheduled for September 13-16 in Shanghai.

 

The new Interior Lifestyle China is the only trade fair of its kind that brings high-end international branded consumer products to the Chinese market.

 

The fair will have three exhibition areas: Dining, Giving, and Living. In the "dining" area, visitors will find glass, porcelain, ceramics, cutlery, kitchen tools and appliances, and other dining and cooking-related products. The trend toward interior products as gift items will be reflected in the section headed "giving", which will house products such as arts and craft, candles and other gift items. Furniture, accessories, and soft furnishings will make up the "Living" section of the fair.

 

Around 180 exhibitors from 11 countries and regions have confirmed participation at the fair. Among them are some of the world's most famous brands.

 

Overseas exhibitors

 

An Italian pavilion, organized by the Italian Trade Commission (ICE) and the Special Agency of the Milan Chamber of Commerce for International Activities (PROMOS), will see the presence of 21 companies: Alessi, Calderoni Fratelli, Domo, Florentina, Forever, Gipar, Interglass, Leader, Luigi Bormioli, Mario Cioni, Mastro de Paja di Montini Alberto, Mida, New Trade, Ottinetti Italo, Rivadossi, Same Decorazione, Tre Esse, Santelli, TVS, Vetreria di Borgonovo and Zanetti Vetreria Artistica. The Italian firms will display stylish luxury products, including kitchen cookware and appliances, crystal and glassware, and decorative items.

 

The German group, with around 12 companies, will be made up of Arnstadt Kristall, Dresden Kristall, Glaskoch, Ideal Home Range, Koziol, Lausitzer Glashtte, Paper & Design, Porzellanfabriken Christian Seltmann, Roesle, Schulte-Ufer, Silit-Werke, WMF and Zwilling JA Henckels.

 

German designing excellence will be in evidence in the crystal table and giftware, porcelain and glass, table-top textiles and cutlery, stainless steel houseware, cookware, kitchen gadgets, appliances and accessories on show.

 

Other overseas exhibitors include Mozart (Belgium), Rosendahl (Denmark), Recife (France), Small World (Hong Kong), Yoshikawa (Japan), Diletto Casa (Portugal), Ceramicas Bellaterra (Spain) and Artilize (Taiwan), who will add decorative sculptures, luxury bedroom and bathroom textiles, home accessories, and electronic gadgets into the product mix.

 

Chinese design will be represented by a large number of luxury and high-end brands, including Miracle Dynasty and Longda Bone China.

 

Special events

 

A number of special events and displays have been planned to inspire and inform visitors:

 

Designers Gallery - The Designers Gallery at Interior Lifestyle China will showcase the products of up-and-coming young designers from across China.

 

Houseware Industry Summit - A seminar and discussion forum to explore the interior products industry, and the differences between doing business locally and internationally. Predominantly targeting Chinese retailers and wholesalers, the summit will invite representatives from international brand companies to talk about their history and the design of their products, as well as present case studies on how those products are marketed.

 

Home Deco Designer Competition & Awards Presentation

 

Around 100 Chinese interior and home designers will submit their ideas for interior furnishings and lifestyle products for a modern Chinese home in the Home Deco Designer Competition. Winning entries will be displayed at Interior Lifestyle China 2007, while prizes will be awarded at a special awards evening during the fair.

 

Ming Qing Lifestyle Presentation - A showcase for antique Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasty- style furniture. A reflection of traditional Chinese lifestyle trends from famous periods in history.

 

Elle Deco Caf - a special caf and relaxation area for fair visitors, sponsored and decorated by the world-renowned home trends magazine Elle Deco.

Interior Lifestyle China is organized by Messe Frankfurt, in cooperation with United Asia International Exhibition Co. The fair is supported by local trade organizations, including the Shanghai Economic Committee, Shanghai Commercial Information Center, The Italian Trade Commission, PROMOS, and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Shandong Sub-Council.
