Chinese share prices concluded its weeklong rally on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index closing at 5,109.43 points, down 85.26 points, or 1.64 percent, from the previous close.
The smaller Shenzhen Component Index reported a 2.1-percent downslide to close at 17,443.19 points, representing a loss of 374.74 points.
The combined turnover of the two bourses stood at 252 billion yuan (US$33.1 billion), slightly lower than 263 billion yuan (US$34.6 billion) recorded a day earlier.
