South China's Guangdong Province will spend 117.6 billion yuan (US$14.2 billion) in the next five years on transportation constructions.
Eastern and Western areas of Guangdong and the relatively undeveloped districts will be stressed in the project.
Main efforts will be taken to improve road networks in the province, including highways to east, west Guangdong and mountainous areas and roads between undeveloped districts.
The province planned to spend 22.2 billion yuan this year including 14.9 billion yuan on 400-kilometer highways.
In addition, railways and water transportation will also be developed coordinatively.
