An exhibition of ancient Chinaware sponsored by east China's Shandong Province in a Japanese city has been a great success, a provincial official said Saturday.
The exhibition, part of a cultural exchange program between Shandong and Yamaguchi-ken of Japan, includes 76 sets of primitive Chinaware unearthed in Shandong in recent years.
The five-month exhibition that started in October 2000 attracted a large number of Japanese visitors including many experts and scholars, the official said.
Experts believe Shandong was the birthplace of china, an invention of ancient China.
