An under-sea aquarium storing the largest water volume in China opened to visitors Friday in Beihai City of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
Hundreds of tropical fish and six seals from the Bohai Bay made a debut at the opening ceremony.
The three-floor building of the Beihai Ocean World, occupying an area of 7,000 square meters, features the country's most abundant ocean species.
Sources said that the depth of the water in the Ocean World averages six meters and the total volume amounts to some 4,700 cubic meters.
The establishment of the aquarium is expected to become a local tourist attraction and draw more visitors to the coastal city.
