Huanghua International Airport in Changsha, capital of central China's Hunan Province, greeted December 25 its two millionth passenger for this year.
The airport is expected to handle 2.06 million passengers for the whole of this year, an increase of 14.9 percent from last year, according to Zhao Longjiang, director of the Hunan Civil Aviation Administration.
In early November, the airport handled a total of 24,300 tons of cargo and mail, an all-time high for a single year in its history, Zhao said, adding that the airport has opened 56 air routes to 46 cities both at home and abroad so far this year.
All the achievements will help Huanghua enter the list of China's top 15 airports, said Zhao.
