Lhasa, capital of China's Tibet Autonomous Region, was recently granted the title of "excellent tourism city" by the National Tourism Administration.
Located on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau which is known as the "roof of the world", Lhasa has long been famous for its unique culture and historic architecture, attracting thousands of tourists from all over the world every year.
In order to improve its services for tourists, the local tourism administration has making efforts to improve the protection of tourism spots, environmental pollution and related travel facilities.
After an overall examination and appraisal of the city, the National Tourism Administration said that the city was qualified for the title for its excellent tourism facilities and services.
