Leather garments, furs, bags and suitcases manufactured by 13 countries and regions were on display Saturday in China's leading leather-producing center of Haining City in Zhejiang Province.

Leather products manufactured by about 700 companies from Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tianjin and the provinces of Guangdong, Hebei, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang were on show at Haining Leather Expo, which began Saturday and will last until September 24.

Also on show were brand-name leather products by companies from Britain, the Republic of Korea, France, Spain, Denmark, Finland and other countries and regions.

Haining produces 12 billion yuan (1.46 billion US dollars) worth of leather products and five billion yuan (609 million US dollars) worth of textile goods each year.

Its leather garments account for one third of China's total andits fur business has 25 percent of the world market.
