Xiangshan Pagoda in Lingxian County of Hunan Province
Located on Mount Xiang outside the county town of Lingxian, the pagoda was first built in the Ming Dynasty and rebuilt in 1851 during the Qing Dynasty. It is believed that the pagoda can change the geomantic omen of the locality. The octagonal pagoda is a nine-storeyed structure of brick and stone. The front side of every storey of the pagoda is shaped like arched gate, with a stone lintel. Carved on the lintels are characters to indicate the significance of the pagoda.
