An exposition of handicrafts from Asia, Africa and Latin America will run from June 22 to 26 in Xiamen City in southeastern China's Fujian Province.
As the first exposition of its kind ever held in China, it will also serve as a trade fair for participating enterprises.
The China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Light Industry and Artwork, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and its local branch in Xiamen are co-hosting the event.
Organizers said at a press conference here on Thursday that the exposition is aimed at promoting handicrafts trade between China and other developing countries.
Some 20 countries including India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Singapore, Czech, South Africa, Egypt, Cuba and Brazil have confirmed that they will send trade delegations to the event. Of the 600 booths, one third are for foreign delegations.
The exposition will be held once a year in the future, according to the organizers.
