China's State Development Planning Commission (SDPC) announced Wednesday that the central government and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government have decided to hold a meeting here on January 31 to coordinate the construction of major infrastructure projects in the Chinese inland and Hong Kong.
The SDPC said the meeting is aimed to expand cooperation between the interior areas and Hong Kong on infrastructure construction and to promote their mutual development and prosperity.
The meeting will discuss the planning of major infrastructure construction projects and the cooperation between the inland, especially the Pearl River Delta region, and the HKSAR.
The meeting will abide by the "one China, two systems" policy and the principles of mutual complementarity, mutual support and mutual benefit, according to the SDPC.
