Beijing will not raise charges for its city-wide road transport service during the coming Spring Festival holidays, today's Beijing Times reported.
But prices for routes from Beijing to other provinces or cities may increase if the terminal place plans price rises.
A Spring rush is expected during the holidays when people usually travel home to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
Many other provinces and cities have announced the plans to raise bus fares, such as Shanghai,Anhui province and Zhejiang province. Some have held public hearings to their price rise proposals. But no final official results have come out.
Starting this year,China requires public transport service providers to pass public scrutiny before they change prices.
