More than 300 overseas investors gathered in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province Tuesday at a bidding fair at which 100 tourism projects are on offer, involving a total of US$ 560 million.
According to sources, 60 of the 100 projects involve developing scenic sites, most of which are of high potential; the other 40 involve infrastructure and reception facilities.
The majority of the overseas investors are from the United States, France and Japan, with 70 from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
