The city unified written contracts between travel agencies and their customers to help improve services by agencies and protect interests of travelers, Shanghai Morning Post reported today.
Customers were told to choose agencies with official licenses and marked prices and to sign contracts with them following the Shanghai Domestic Travel Contract issued yesterday.
The contract made clear accommodations, destinations, transportation, prices and other items promised by agencies.
Customers can write to travel quality supervision department for compensation when agencies break agreements.
The Shanghai Tourism Commission has seized 13 cases of illegal businesses by travel agencies by August this year.
