From the Red Star Pavilion at the top of the hill in Loquat Hill Park -- the highest point in the city of Chongqing -- one can get a bird's-eye view of the whole town and of the Yangtze and Jialing rivers below.
At night, the view is especially lovely, with the lights of the water of the rivers.
It was once a private garden owned by Wang Lingji, the chairman of the Sichuan government from 1911 to 1949. But it was confiscated and extended into a park after 1949.
