A local cinema in east China's Nanjing city has announced it is suing Taiwan movie star Hsu Chi for one yuan for damage to the city's morale as well as seeking a written apology from Hsu Chi.
The charge comes after the star declared she would not go to Nanjing to promote her new movie Years without Epidemic or Meiren Cao in Chinese, whereas the leading actors have traveled nationwide to publicize to the movie.
Hsu Chi reportedly thinks the media in Nanjing is too unkind.
The local theater said the actress has hurt the feeling of the city's theaters and fans.
The case is currently suspended.
