HK to Issue Stamps on China's World Heritage Sites
A set of stamps depicting six world heritage sites in Chinese mainland will be issued in Hong Kong on June 12, Hong Kong Postmaster General Allan Chiang said Monday.

The six sites are Potala Palace, Imperial Palace of the Ming and Qing Dynasties (namely Forbidden City), Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor, Mount Huangshan, Old Town of Lijiang and Jiuzhaigou Valley. The stamps are designed by Bon Kwan, an local artist.

Chiang said every country's heritage sites, from historical monuments to sites of geological or archaeological significance, all tell unique stories of the past. The mainland has 28 sites on the world heritage list and the six chosen for the stamps are the representatives of China's rich cultural and natural heritage.
