The famous Chinese comedian Zhao Benshan has been selected to promote tax laws in northeastern China's Liaoning Province.
The local tax bureau says it chose Zhao Benshan because he has always paid his taxes on time. The bureau anticipates that his fame will help in the promotion of tax laws across the country, and particularly in his home Province.
Zhao Benshan's most recent work is a TV series named Liu Laogen, which he both directs and stars in.
The series is widely popular in China, as it is perceived as telling the true story of Chinese farmers.
