Zhu Xiaohua, former chairman of the China Everbright Group Co., was recently expelled from the Communist Part of China (CPC) and dismissed from all his posts for seriously violating the law and the CPC discipline.
The decision was made by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the Ministry of Supervision and approved by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council.
According to investigations, Zhu took advantage of his power as chairman of the Everbright Group Co. to take bribes of several million HK dollars by seeking gains for others. He also made a personal decision to grant a loan of hundreds of millions HK dollars to others, causing great economic losses for the Everbright Group.
As a senior leader, Zhu took huge amounts of bribes, neglected his duty and incurred big losses for the state and the enterprise. His mistake was serious and the way in which the crime was committed was absolutely vile, the decision said.
As Zhu has violated the law, the procuratorial department has brought an accusation to the people's court.
