Famous VJ Li Xiang moves from just another woman to "happy" wife
In many ways, VJ Li Xiang is the typical gushing bride. "I've never been as happy as I am now," the entertainer told reporters after her marriage to He Houlin. "He's my absolutely perfect partner. I'm a very lucky woman to be married to him."
Many in the public arena are not so sure that Hiersun jewels boss He Houlin is necessarily the obliging and considerate husband that Li holds him to be, however. For in the early days of his lucrative business, He was romantically linked with pop singer Zhou Yanhong, who boosted his business by inviting twinkling stars to Hiersun's glittering functions.
He rapidly gained a reputation as a playboy, and Zhou was the first in a long line of lovers. Following their split, he was seen in the company of famous faces such as singer Sun Yue, and actress and winner of the 2001 Golden Horse Qin Hailu.
In fact, when VJ Li announced to all and sundry that she had met the man of her dreams, He was still involved with Qin - who was reportedly devastated by the news. The sensitive and caring He of Li's dreams responded by breaking up with Qin by SMS text message.
Qin confined her public show of emotion to suddenly being blinded by tears during a press conference. The reaction of ex-girlfriend Zhou to his marriage drew more attention, however, reportedly suffering a crying fit that lasted for days.
Li's catfight over He reached public ears via the gossip rags and the Internet. Despite conflicting reports of playboy He's integrity, however, Li has remained faithful to her beaux. "Going through these problems has strengthened my relationship with my husband," she told journalists. "And I hope that Qin and Zhou too will find true love in the future."
Qin, meanwhile, refuses to utter He's name. Recent updates say that Zhou's condition has improved, and is confirmed to be sad rather than devastated. Her judgment of the relationship is that it is purely based on money and power - not on love. The wealthy and famous VJ Li may have plenty of cash and authority, but for the time being at least, the rumor mill has judged her to have an astute eye on the prize that she's won.
