Presidents of travel services from Taiwan made an inspection tour to southwest China's Yunnan Province recently.
They made spot investigations at major sites of historical interests and landscapes in Yunnan, tourist facilities and travel cost.
Since the Yunnan Airlines opened an air route to Macao, thousands of people from Taiwan visit Yunnan each year.
Yunnan is rich in tourism resources which include plateau lakes, karst landforms tropical forests and low latitude glaciers. It also has 25 ethnic groups with unique folk arts, culture and customs. The province borders Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam, and is not far from Thailand, Cambodia, Bangladesh and India.
A national survey shows that Yunnan Province is one of the most attractive tourism destinations in China. It receives an average 23 million Chinese and foreign visitors annually.
