Media professionals from China and abroad will meet in Shanghai's Pudong New District at a December 5-7 forum to discuss media management in China after its World Trade Organization entry.
Ding Fazhang, vice executive director of the organizing committee and head of the Shanghai Society of Journalism, said Saturday the forum would help improve the core competitive edge of China's media.
According to the organizers made up of the Shanghai Journalists Association, the Journalism School of Fudan University and the Shanghai Society of Journalism, forum topics include changes to China's media after its WTO entry, the status quo of media worldwide and operating mechanisms of foreign media organizations.
The committee has invited the heads of the American AOL, Times Warner, News Group, China's Xinhua News Agency, People's Daily and other leading news organizations in China and the world to attend the forum.
