Taiwan pop singer Mavis Fan and her band "100%" arrived in Beijing on Sunday to promote her latest rock'n roll album "Breakthrough".

Mavis Fan enjoyed an immediate success when she started her singing career in the image of a lively, happy girl of 18 in 1995. The singer soon became a household name for her frisky and even childish pop songs and was dubbed "the little demon girl", derived from her second album The Little Demon Girl's Magic Book in 1996.

Seeking for a breakthrough, the star launched a jazz album in 2001. The album was highly acclaimed by critics but was far less popular than her early hits.

Now the star is going further along the way of independent music with the rock'n roll album "Breakthrough".

"Breakthrough" was released by Fan's own company Vegetarian Fish at the cost of several million New Taiwanese Dollars.

Although the album includes only three singles, Mavis Fan said they were enough "to endure and for people to expect."

"Music is the career to which I will devote my whole life," she added.
