A Jing'an District kindergarten in Shanghai caught fire this morning and more than 100 children were evacuated safely, Shanghai Evening Post reported today.
The fire began in a small conference room on the second floor of the main building and totally destroyed the room.
Flames came from an air-conditioner in the room, said an employee of the Changshu Kindergarten.
"When I used a fire extinguisher to put out it the curtains beside the air-conditioner ignited, which cause a bigger fire and burnt books, computers and printers in the room," she said.
The principal of the kindergarten informed the children's families immediately and they were all relocated to a neighboring kindergarten on Wanhangdu Road.
