The 2001 Qingdao Fashion Week will be held in late September in the coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong Province in east China, the organizers said.
The fashion week will feature the first Qingdao Garment Expo, as well as a fashion forum, fashion show, model competition and dress design contest.
Several hundred garment producers at home and abroad, including name brands such as Gold Lion and Piere Cardin, are expected to take part in the event. Over 100 major department stores from across China will also send their representatives.
Qingdao's textile industry has been growing quickly in recent years. The city now has 14 garment producers with an annual turnover of over 100 million yuan each.
