The Nagqu Railway Station of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway will be the highest of its kind in the world, with an elevation of 4,500 meters, Xinhua news agency reported. The 1,118-kilometer railway will extend from Lhasa, capital of Tibet, to Golmud in neighboring Qinghai Province. Tibet is the last region in China which has no access to railways.
